MIPS ejtag
« on: December 28, 2009, 04:58:21 AM »
I got some problems with my mips/bcm based satreciver and i was wondering what cabel/wiggler i should buy? I need to readout the eeprom and the bcm chipp contents. The reciver has a "standard?" ejtag port with 14 pins.

Picture of the ejtag interface.

Hi, you could use the wiggler jtag, but you need to customize the pin configuration.  The wiggler we provided has a standard 20 pin header.

thanks

Hi, you could try openocd.

Actually, I am recommending the cheaper one, the universal jtag, you can try it first, it should work as well.

Thanks

Razorx,
Im modifing tjtag to work with the new Universal jtag, testing it as we speak and have added support for a couple new pins. It's a great little adapter, very customizable. Please let me know what outtput you get from whatever adapter you get, what processor and flash chip  does it have exactly? just provide some feedback, and I will try to help if you need it.

*edit* TDA8024T is the NXP chip number

Ok, yes I know this adapter and have one myself, but if I were to recommend a adapter, it would be the new Universal Jtag Adapter, I have been writing the next version of tjtag that will make it a little less problematic. I am writing code to work with this adapter. In my opinion, it is a low cost, highly customizable adapter, that will work with Tjtag, openOCD, and UrJtag..., the best low cost adapter out there. If you decide to purchase one, Please use my referral code - TJTAG

Now, when you get your adapter, let me know, and I will try and help you with that board.

P.S. The adapter has a special price now until the end of January.

Hello,
I found this on a german forum.

Maybe this could be ,also helpful for you.
Is it the same hardware, you have?

1 DDR2 Ram: Samsung K4T1G164QE
2 NandFlash: Hynix HY27UF082G2B
3 Flash: Spansion S29GL032N90FFIS2
4 IC card interface: NXP TDA8024T
5 dual rgb-scart-controller: AKM Ak4708

An ota-fw-update was ripped from a guy via dvb pc-card.
See the filesystem ,they will use linux-kernel.
