How to program FPGA with TIAO USB Multi Protocol Adapter (TUMPA) Under UrJTAG

  1. Copy all BSDL files, for the devices that is in the current scan chain to a new folder d:/mybsdl
  2. Get into UrJTAG prompt by launch urjtag.exe or urjtag (in a DOS prompt window)
  3. Initialize TUMPA by issuing command: "cable ft2232 vid=0403 pid=8A98"
  4. Set BSDL path by issuing command: "bsdl path d:/bsdl"
  5. Detect the chain, issuing command: "detect"
  6. Program/Play the SVF file by issuing command: "svf d:/svf/file.svf progress stop" (this will show the progress, and stop on errors)

If you have encountered errors, try the following:

  1. Make sure the TUMPA is connected to the USB port.
  2. Make sure all the JTAG wires are connected correctly.
  3. Try to reduce the frequency by issuing command: "frequency 600000" or lower.
