I have a number of CD-like console game systems in storage at this point, and I'm keeping them around in case I want to use them again (duh). But, I've wondered if years of gravity could eventually cause the systems to fail. While I'm not concerned about the systems if they are in the original box and oriented as if in use, I've wondered about what happens if the box is flipped on it's side (abnormal for gameplay if outside of the box). I'm going to forego the question about solid state systems like the Genesis and ask to focus only on CD/DVD-like systems such as the Playstation series.
Any help will be apprecited.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
